Nick D'Arcy

n 31 March 2008, D'Arcy was charged with assault after an alleged brawl with former Commonwealth Games triple gold medalist Simon Cowley on the night of his naming in the Australian Olympic team. He was later charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm. On 3 April 2008, a second athlete, Tim Peach, came forward claiming he was also assaulted by D'Arcy. D'Arcy was granted conditional bail to appear in court on 21 April 2008. He plead guilty to one charge of recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm. On April 18, the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) dropped D'Arcy from its 2008 Olympic team, claiming that the swimmer had brought the team into disrepute. D'Arcy subsequently appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which found that D'Arcy had brought himself into disrepute and therefore broken his contract with the AOC regarding behaviour by Olympic team members. However, CAS also found that the decision to expel D'Arcy should not have been made solely by the President of the AOC John Coates, but instead by the entire AOC Board. The AOC Board subsequently unanimously decided to withdraw D'Arcy's membership from the team on 11 June 2008. D'Arcy appealed the AOC Board's decision to CAS, which rejected this appeal on 16 June 2008. In March 2009, D'Arcy received a jail sentence of 14 months and 12 days. This was suspended on condition of good behavior. On 6 April 2009, he was dropped from Australia's team to the 2009 World Championships by Swimming Australia. Former Australian swimming captain Grant Hackett supported D'Arcy's return to swimming once his ban was served. D'Arcy underwent an out-of-competition test in March and was informed of his positive result in April, he tested positive for the banned substance formoterol. He is currently fighting to stave off a doping ban after paperwork allowing him to take an asthma medication "went missing".

Brock Lesnar Ufc

UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is reportedly seriously ill and in the hospital after he collapsed in Canada. Read more on Brock Lesnar’s illness below.

UFC president Dana White said, “he’s in rough shape, he’s in really bad shape.”

“He is not well and he is not getting any better. … He’s very, very sick and he’s going to be out for a while. He’s got a lot of problems.”

Lesnar, 32, was forced to postpone a fight against Shane Carwin that was scheduled for UFC 106 on Nov. 21 in Las Vegas. The fight at first was postponed until January 2, but now that has also been canceled.

“He’s got mono and he’s got something else wrong with him. I know what’s wrong with him, he just doesn’t want me talking about it,” White said. “He doesn’t have cancer or AIDS or anything like this, (but) he’s got some problems, man.”

Brock Lesnar, the 6-foot-3, 265-pounder was currently in a hospital but may need to go to another t op facility “to figure out what’s wrong with this guy.”
Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir takes exception via MMA Fanhouse to the recent Lesnar hype heading into his showdown with interim division titlist Antonio Rodrigo Minotauro Nogueira at UFC 92 on December 27 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mir, who also doesn't consider WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko in the top ten pound-for-pound list, bested a very green Lesnar at UFC 81 after being bludgeoned with mutliple hamhocks. A rematch would naturally be in order if Mir can get past Nogueira at the end of the month. Easier said than done.

wwe rey mysterio

Óscar Gutiérrez (born December 11, 1974) is a Mexican American professional wrestler best known by his ring name Rey Mysterio. He is currently signed to WWE where he performs on the Raw brand. Gutiérrez was trained by his uncle Rey Mysterio and wrestled early on in Mexico where he learned the Lucha Libre high flying style that has been his trademark.

Gutiérrez originally worked for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) in Mexico, from 1992 to 1995. He wrestled in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) from 1995 to 1996 and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from 1996 to 2001, as Rey Misterio, Jr./Rey Mysterio, Jr. but dropped the "Junior" from his name when he began working for WWE in 2002.

Mysterio is known for having a high flying style, which helped kick-start the cruiserweight wrestling revolution in the United States in the late 1990s during his time in WCW. In WCW, Mysterio won the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship five times, the WCW World Tag Team Championship three times, and the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship once with Billy Kidman as part of the Filthy Animals. In WWE, Mysterio is a three time world champion having held the World Heavyweight Championship twice, the WWE Championship once and is currently listed as the lightest world champion in WWE history. He has also held the WWE World Cruiserweight Championship three times (a record eight times overall when added with his WCW reigns), the WWE Tag Team Championship four times (also a record—shared with two others), and the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice. All totaled, he has won 21 titles between WWE and WCW. Mysterio was the 21st person to win the WWE Triple Crown Championship, and was the winner of the 2006 Royal Rumble.

Wwe Edge Spear

The Smackdown brand took a major blow on Friday night as Edge suffered what is believed to be a torn Achilles tendon during a house show match in San Diego, CA. If that is indeed what the injury is, it's expected to keep him on the shelf for the rest of the year and will force the WWE to change their plans for both Edge and Chris Jericho, his partner as Unified Tag Team Champions. There's obviously no plans in place at this time for them to be able to figure out what to do since the injury just happened this weekend, but from reports it looks like they're trying to find something from the footage on this past Friday's Smackdown show to explain the injury. Expect to see either Legacy or The Colons pick up the straps from Jericho soon after the announcement is made on television, or perhaps for the belts to be vacated with Legacy and The Colons fighting it out for the titles.

As I said previously this is a terrible blow to Smackdown as Edge has been one of the best performers of the year and was easily in the running to be considered as an MVP of sorts for the entire company. Since being elevated to the top of the card, he's put on great matches, had consistently solid feuds and been one of the most watchable characters no matter what brand he was on. Edge had gone through a good run of being injury-free as of late, but there is word going around that he was working around some nagging injuries which could have led to him injuring himself further. As much as that can be the case in some cases, when it's an Achilles rupture it just goes with no real warning and can happen just as easily to someone who is completely healthy as it can to someone with pre-existing injuries.
